Why vote by mail?

the comfort of their own home at a time that is most convenient for
them. Voting by mail also allows the voter to carefully review the
candidates and issues without having to rush through the voting process.

There are many reasons why people can vote
by mail. Four of the most common reasons people can vote by mail
include:
1. If you are 65 years old or older, you
can vote by mail.
2. If you are vacationing, conducting
business, or attending school outside of your county on election day,
you can vote by mail
3. If for reasons of employment you will

How can I vote by mail?
Voting by mail is a 3-step process:
1. Request an Absentee Ballot application
from your County Election Commission. You can mail, fax, or phone in
your request. Click here for a mail in form. For
your County Election Commission contact information, please visit
http://www.state.sc.us/scsec/votereg.htm
2. Once you receive your application, fill
it out. Make sure you provide the reason you need the ballot and mail it
in no later than Saturday, October 28th. You should receive your ballot
3-4 days after mailing in your application.
3. Once you have received the official
ballot, mark your vote. Place your completed ballot in the ‘Ballots
Herein’ envelope, and then put that envelope into the ‘Return Envelope’.
**Remember, you and a witness need to sign
and date the back of the ‘Return Envelope’ and include both of your full
mailing addresses. Then put a stamp on the ‘Return Envelope’ and mail it
to your County Board of Voter Registration by Saturday, November 4th.
